Rating Settings

Match Mode

  • Public label: Match Mode
  • Location: Filter Editor > Filters / Blocks > Rating Settings
  • Type: Radio
  • Default value: Cumulative
  • Shown when: Block type is Rating.
  • Availability: Free
  • What it does: Chooses whether a rating option means "this rating and higher" or exactly that rating.
  • When to use: Use cumulative for the familiar "4 stars and up" pattern, and exact when shoppers should select specific rating levels.
  • Side effects / performance notes: Cumulative mode is naturally single-select; exact mode can support multiple levels.
  • Related options: Min Star Level, Display Type.

Min Star Level

  • Public label: Min Star Level
  • Location: Filter Editor > Filters / Blocks > Rating Settings
  • Type: Select
  • Default value: 1
  • Shown when: Block type is Rating.
  • Availability: Free
  • What it does: Sets the lowest rating level shown in the filter.
  • When to use: Use it to hide low rating choices when they are not useful for shoppers.
  • Side effects / performance notes: Hide Empty still applies after the minimum level is set.
  • Related options: Match Mode, Hide Empty.

Show Unrated

  • Public label: Show Unrated
  • Location: Filter Editor > Filters / Blocks > Rating Settings
  • Type: Toggle
  • Default value: Off
  • Shown when: Block type is Rating.
  • Availability: Free
  • What it does: Adds a choice for products with no reviews.
  • When to use: Use it when unrated products should remain discoverable through the rating filter.
  • Side effects / performance notes: Unrated means no reviews, not products below the review-count threshold.
  • Related options: Unrated Label, Min Reviews Threshold.

Unrated Label

  • Public label: Unrated Label
  • Location: Filter Editor > Filters / Blocks > Rating Settings
  • Type: Text
  • Default value: Unrated
  • Shown when: Show Unrated is on.
  • Availability: Free
  • What it does: Sets the label for the unrated choice.
  • When to use: Rename it to match the store's tone, such as No reviews yet.
  • Side effects / performance notes: The label should clearly mean no reviews, not low rating.
  • Related options: Show Unrated.

Min Reviews Threshold

  • Public label: Min Reviews Threshold
  • Location: Filter Editor > Filters / Blocks > Rating Settings
  • Type: Number
  • Default value: 0
  • Shown when: Block type is Rating.
  • Availability: Free
  • What it does: Requires a product to have at least this many reviews before it participates in rating filtering.
  • When to use: Use it when one-off reviews should not qualify a product for rating filters.
  • Side effects / performance notes: Products below the threshold but above zero reviews are not treated as unrated.
  • Related options: Show Unrated.

Star Color

  • Public label: Star Color
  • Location: Filter Editor > Filters / Blocks > Rating Settings
  • Type: Color
  • Default value: Inherit
  • Shown when: Block type is Rating.
  • Availability: Free
  • What it does: Sets the color of rating icons.
  • When to use: Match rating icons to the storefront theme or brand.
  • Side effects / performance notes: Low contrast star colors can make rating choices hard to read.
  • Related options: Star Icon, Star Size.

Star Icon

  • Public label: Star Icon
  • Location: Filter Editor > Filters / Blocks > Rating Settings
  • Type: Select
  • Default value: Filled
  • Shown when: Block type is Rating.
  • Availability: Free
  • What it does: Chooses the icon style used for rating choices.
  • When to use: Keep the default star unless another icon is a deliberate design choice.
  • Side effects / performance notes: Non-star icons may be less immediately understood as ratings.
  • Related options: Star Color, Star Size.

Star Size

  • Public label: Star Size
  • Location: Filter Editor > Filters / Blocks > Rating Settings
  • Type: Number
  • Default value: 16 px
  • Shown when: Block type is Rating.
  • Availability: Free
  • What it does: Sets the rating icon size.
  • When to use: Increase it for touch-heavy mobile layouts or visual rating-led filters.
  • Side effects / performance notes: Very small targets can be hard to tap on mobile.
  • Related options: Star Icon, mobile touch sizing.
