Shared Skin Settings
Accent Color
- Public label: Accent Color
- Location: Filter Editor > Filters / Blocks > Shared Skin Settings
- Type: Color
- Default value: Theme primary color.
- Shown when: A button, color, or image-style display is selected.
- Availability: Free setting inside the selected skin; skin availability follows Display Type.
- What it does: Sets the shared accent color used by selected states in visual skins.
- When to use: Match it to the store's primary action color.
- Side effects / performance notes: Low-contrast accent colors can make selected states hard to see.
- Related options: Selected Style (Buttons), Selected Style (Colors), Selected Style (Images).
Gap Between Items
- Public label: Gap Between Items
- Location: Filter Editor > Filters / Blocks > Shared Skin Settings
- Type: Number
- Default value: 8
- Shown when: A button, color, or image-style display is selected.
- Availability: Free setting inside the selected skin; skin availability follows Display Type.
- What it does: Sets spacing between visual items.
- When to use: Increase it for touch comfort or reduce it for dense filters.
- Side effects / performance notes: Large gaps can cause more wrapping.
- Related options: Layout, button size, swatch size.
Count Placement
- Public label: Count Placement
- Location: Filter Editor > Filters / Blocks > Shared Skin Settings
- Type: Select
- Default value: Inline
- Shown when: A visual skin is selected and Show Count is on.
- Availability: Free setting inside the selected skin; skin availability follows Display Type.
- What it does: Places count text inline, below, in a tooltip, or hides it in the visual skin.
- When to use: Move counts out of the main label when visual items become crowded.
- Side effects / performance notes: Hiding counts removes a useful relevance signal.
- Related options: Show Count.
Disabled Style
- Public label: Disabled Style
- Location: Filter Editor > Filters / Blocks > Shared Skin Settings
- Type: Select
- Default value: Muted
- Shown when: A button, color, or image-style display is selected.
- Availability: Free setting inside the selected skin; skin availability follows Display Type.
- What it does: Controls how zero-result or unavailable visual items appear.
- When to use: Use muted or strikethrough when you want shoppers to see unavailable options without clicking them.
- Side effects / performance notes: Hidden disabled items can make the available set shift as filters change.
- Related options: Hide Empty, Hide Empty After Filtering, Show Disabled As Greyed.
Virtualization
- Public label: Virtualization
- Location: Filter Editor > Filters / Blocks > Shared Skin Settings
- Type: Toggle plus number threshold
- Default value: On at 100 items.
- Shown when: A button, color, or image-style display is selected.
- Availability: Free setting inside the selected skin; skin availability follows Display Type.
- What it does: Lazy-renders large visual lists after a threshold.
- When to use: Use it for very large term sets, such as hundreds of visual categories or swatches.
- Side effects / performance notes: Improves initial rendering cost; older browsers may fall back to rendering all items.
